If You Knew Him
John 14:6-7 NIV
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
As we begin Homeward Bound Trio's thirty first year; we reflect back on our humble beginnings- three men of God wanting to minister in song to a world in need of Christ and our fellow believers in Christ who need encouragement. We are excited to continue that ministry in 2017.
Last year, at the closing of each service, we sang the song that asks the question “Are You Ready?” The Bible says Jesus is coming soon and we must be ready to meet Him. Are you ready?
This year we want to encourage you that “if you know Him, like I know Him, you’d know Jesus is the resurrection and the life. The song “If You Knew Him” says”
“If you knew Him, like I know Him, You would know that He's alive.
If you felt Him, like I feel Him, Resurrection, deep inside.
You'd know He's living, And death has died.”
As I write this newsletter, we are approaching the Easter season. Another song writer, Alfred Ackley, wrote the words to a song that reflects my testimony:
“I serve a risen Saviour, He's in the world today.
I know that He is living, whatever men may say.
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer.
And just the time I need Him He's always near.
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today.
He walks with me and talks with me, along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives, Salvation to impart.
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart!”
Revelation 1:18 NKJV “I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen.”
So I repeat the question, Do you know Him like I know Him? If not, you can at this very moment.
Sinner’s Prayer “Confessing to God right now that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross was raised from the dead for my salvation. I do receive and confess to Him now that He is my personal Saviour.”
May God Bless you and keep you in the new 2017 year!
